Legal Secretary – Family

We are currently recruiting for a Secretary/Receptionist to join our team at Crossgates.

The successful candidate will have 12+ months’ secretarial experience preferably in family and will ideally have experience of working on reception. We are looking for someone who is organised and efficient, able to complete a high volume of work accurately and within tight deadlines. We pride ourselves on our professional and friendly client care and need to someone who will deliver excellent service to clients and other parties whether this is face-to-face, by telephone or in writing.

KEY TASKS

Audio-typing.
Secretarial and administrative support
Reception duties.
Management of the files under the fee earner’s direction from opening files to preparing them for archiving.
Producing documents from the Case Management system.
Liaising with clients and other parties on behalf of fee earners and dealing with enquiries as appropriate.
Liaising with the Accounts department to produce cheques, pay disbursements etc.
Maintaining diaries and making appointments when required.
Dealing with the branch post and DX.
KEY SKILLS – ESSENTIAL

Good typing skills.
Literate and numerate.
Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of the team.
Ability to deal with enquiries in a customer-friendly and effective manner.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Ability to work on own initiative.
EXPERIENCE

Family secretary (desirable).
Case Management System (required)
Reception (highly desirable)
Wills and probate and/or conveyancing (desirable)
OTHER

Flexible and ‘can do’ attitude.
Excellent written English to produce documents for the clients, other side and third parties.
Clear and confident communication to effectively deal with telephone enquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS

No essential qualifications.

SALARY

The salary for this role will depend on the successful candidate’s skills and experience. Please indicate your current salary and salary expectations when submitting your application.

48 Austhorpe Road, Cross Gates, Leeds LS15 8DX

The role is office based therefore only local candidates will be considered.
