ABOUT US

Switalskis is an award-winning law firm, recently listed in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for the third consecutive year.

Established in 1993 by Stephen Switalski, we began with a focus on child care law and criminal law from a single office in Wakefield. Since then we’ve expanded to 12 locations employing approximately 400 people who provide a wide array of specialist legal services.

A career at Switalskis means being part of a firm that cares and is here for you. We’re dynamic and progressive, and we never stand still. As well as being crowned Large Firm of the Year 2026 at the Yorkshire Legal Awards, we have also been named in the top 50 fastest growing companies in Yorkshire in the Yorkshire Growth Index.

THE ROLE

You will join our Serious Injury team, as an experienced fee earner, ideally operating at Grade B level, managing your own caseload while supporting colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes for clients with complex personal injury claims. The caseload is expected to include serious injury work alongside higher-value Intermediate Track and Multi-Track claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a varied caseload of serious injury matters, together with higher-value Intermediate Track and Multi-Track personal injury claims, from initial instruction through to settlement or trial
Deliver clear, practical, high-quality legal advice and maintain exceptional client care throughout the lifecycle of each claim
Prepare legal documentation, including statements, schedules of loss, and court bundles
Liaise with counsel, experts, and other stakeholders to progress claims effectively
Ensure files are handled in line with compliance, risk management, and client service standards
Meet financial and time targets set by the department
Take a proactive, organised approach to case management and prioritise competing deadlines effectively
Work collaboratively within a high-performing team, sharing knowledge and providing appropriate guidance and support to less experienced colleagues
Support colleagues within the team and provide cover when required
Contribute to business development and team growth initiatives, including building relationships and supporting the team’s external profile

This is a hybrid role, with Leeds or Doncaster as the preferred office base. Travel between offices, particularly to Doncaster for team meetings and collaboration, may be required from time to time.
